Congratulations to Austin Hinkley for receiving a Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA) Scholarship Award for the 2023-2024 school year. The MIAAA believes in rewarding students who flourish in both academic and athletic excellence and commit to service in his or her local community. The selection process for this year was highly competitive and each of the selected student-athletes is very deserving of this honor. Way to go, Austin! You make Cardinal Country proud!

Watch our talented students in action! Drama and Theatrical Design students will be sharing their work. Costume Design, Program Design, Marketing plans, and Set Design presentations will begin at 6:30 pm. Performances of Monologues, Duets, and Musical performances will begin at 7 pm. This a free event. 9th Grade Orientation - March 13th 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at BRHS The staff at Big Rapids High School want to invite all current 8th grade students and their families planning on attending BRHS next school year for an orientation. The goal of orientation is to have students and families become more informed and familiar with what to expect of their high school experience. Teachers, counselors, and administrators will be presenting and answering questions on various topics including: athletics, scheduling/graduation requirements, dual enrollment, student handbook/expectations, career exploration, student clubs, etc. The orientation will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm at the HS. The schedule of events will be available when you arrive that evening, but all students and their families will meet in the Auditorium to begin the evening. We look forward to seeing you on March 13th and welcoming our next freshman class!

Five choirs from BRPS excelled at the District Chorus Festival yesterday! Congratulations to Chorus, Blue Choir, and Red Choir for their 'Good' ratings, scoring 92, 92, and 95 out of 120 points. Special applause to Bella Voce and Serenade, achieving an 'Excellent' rating with impressive scores of 111 out of 120. Notably, only four choirs at the event received excellent ratings, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication. In addition, Bella Voce and Serenade achieved flawless scores in Sight Reading! Bravo to our Outstanding Choirs!

Congratulations to our Cardinal Pride award recipients, Mr. Albie Todd and Amalia Burdo! Mr. Todd was runner-up for the MSBOA Michigan Band Teacher of the Year and Amalia qualified for and performed at the MSBOA state-level honors band!
