Welcome, Mr. Rogers

Big Rapids Public Schools is excited to welcome Mr. Dale Rogers as the new principal of Big Rapids Middle School. With more than 30 years of experience in education, Mr. Rogers brings a passion for student growth, a commitment to positive school culture, and a wealth of leadership experience to his new role.

Originally from Muskegon and a graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School, Mr. Rogers played football and tennis before beginning his long and accomplished career in education. He spent 26 years teaching at Morley Stanwood, where he also served as Athletic Director and Middle School Principal for the past five years. In addition, he has taught driver’s education for an impressive 33 years and continues to share his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Ferris State University, preparing the next generation of educators.

Mr. Rogers is an avid traveler, having explored countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia—sometimes looping through European roundabouts more than once, just for the fun of it. His love for learning and adventure often extends to his students, having chaperoned more than 100 school dances and traveled with students to three continents.

A Big Rapids resident for over 20 years, Mr. Rogers is deeply connected to our community. His wife works at Ferris State, and his daughter Reagan teaches at Riverview Elementary. Three of his children have attended BRPS, and he has hosted seven international exchange students at Big Rapids High School—with two more joining the family this fall from the Czech Republic and Italy.

Mr. Rogers is excited to take on a new professional challenge and is looking forward to working in a larger, more diverse school community. “Big Rapids Middle School offers the opportunity to grow as a leader, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to a district known for its excellence and innovation,” he shared.

Please join us in giving Principal Dale Rogers a warm Cardinal welcome!
