150+ Big Rapids Middle School 6th grade students concluded this year's Salmon in the classroom program with the release of 138 salmon at Ludington State Park! Students were then able to fish the waters, explore the sand dunes and visit Lake Michigan! We had an awesome turn out of family members, from moms and dads, grandparents, and siblings join us, reinforcing how strong our community is and how nature can bring us all together! Way to go BRPS!

Congratulations to BRMS 7th grader Anika Pai on being selected as a finalist in the Michigan Holocaust Center’s Kappy Family Art and Writing Contest. Anika’s poem, “Echoes of Hope,” was selected from over 200 entries as one of fifteen middle school writing finalists.
Today, Anika traveled to the Michigan Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills to engage with judges and other finalists. While there, she had an opportunity to tour the center and hear a second generation survivor speak.
