Big Rapids Public Schools is under a 3 hour delay this morning, Thursday, January 25th as a result of the heavy fog.
There will be no school Wednesday, January 24th as a result of inclement weather.
We are so excited for Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr, presented by Big Rapids Middle School!

Brookside's 3rd and 4th grades will present their Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 7th at the High School auditorium. Third grade is at 5:30 and Fourth grade at 6:15. Please join us.
Winter weather gear reminder....
The Community Mentor program at Brookside has been a unique 10 year initiative that connects community members with classrooms to become their mentor and super hero. This relationship develops during the school year with visits, field trips to their place of business and continuous collaboration throughout the year. Building positive relationships between schools, students, parents, teachers and community is an integral part of educating students at Brookside.
The City of Big Rapids Firefighters visited Brookside first graders on Monday to promote fire safety awareness this month. The students learned life saving information and that firefighters are friendly not scary!
Brookside Elementary has been awarded the MI HEARTSafe School Award for the school years 2022 through 2025. On behalf of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Michigan Department of a Education, American Heart Association, Michigan High School Athletic Association and a Michigan Alliance for Prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death of the Young.
Assemblies were held today to kick off the 100 Book Challenge, Habits at Home and finishing up plans for our Glow-a-Thon celebration!! Everyone is also very excited about Halloween today!!
Brookside had a visit today from the Big Rapids High School Band. Their roaring rendition of Star Wars was amazing to hear as they played to a hill packed with students. Thanks for visiting today!
