Hey kids… while you were enjoying your day off, guess who still had to go to school?
👩🏫 That’s right — your teachers! 👨🏫
They spent the day learning, planning, and getting ready to make the rest of the year awesome!

🚌Oh, The Places Our Buses Go — Safely!
It’s National School Bus Safety Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible team that keeps our Cardinals safe every single day!
Each day, BRPS buses carry 1,372 students across 1,023 miles — and by week’s end, that’s 5,115 miles and more than 6,800 safe rides completed! 🚦 That would be like driving to Florida every day or driving from New York City to Las Vegas, Nevada AND BACK each week!
From early mornings to afternoon drop-offs, our drivers and transportation staff make safety their top priority — and we’re so thankful for the care, smiles, and dedication they show on every route. ❤️

Eastwood Elementary's Move-A-Thon is fast approaching! We are looking for area businesses who are willing to sponsor the Move-A-Thon. Last year we raised over $15,000!! This year we are looking to raise the same or even more. We know with everyone's help we can do it. If you are willing to help be a sponsor please reach out to the Eastwood Elementary PTO. Last year with the money raised we were able to send all students to Lewis Farms for their field trip, purchase staff appreciation gifts, provide a book for every student, snow day contest winner prizes, popcorn treats for whole school, goodies for Goodies with Grown Up day, shirts for all staff and students, and our BIG Move-A-Thon Summer Bounce Bash with 6 bounce houses and a dunk tank. Of course so many other things throughout the year it would be too many to list. More information about the Move-A-Thon will be coming home with every student next week on how they can raise money for their classroom and school! Who will be the top earning class this year?
Thank you everyone as always for being such great supporters of Eastwood Elementary!

🎉 Celebrating Our Principals! 🎉
At last night’s Board of Education meeting, we took a moment to recognize our incredible principals in honor of National Principal Appreciation Month! ❤️
Each principal received an embroidered lunch cooler featuring the BR logo — a small token of appreciation for the big impact they make every single day.
Thank you to our principals for leading with dedication, heart, and a commitment to helping every student thrive. We’re so grateful for all that you do! 🙌

October is fire safety month! Big Rapids Fire Department came today and gave a presentation about fire safety to our students. Almost every class was able to see the fire truck up close! Ms. Roberts class was learning about the fire truck when they got a call about an emergency on the highway. They were able to see the fireman quickly put their gear on and the fire truck race off!
Mrs. Hughes and Mrs.Thomas' class will be able to see the fire truck another day since they missed it due to the rescue.

Eastwood has Detroit Lions Pride!

ECSE students made Ten Apples on Top crafts after reading the book in class! They turned out great!

It’s that time of year to connect, celebrate progress, and partner for student success! 🌟
