Our first snow day!!
Get out and enjoy the beautiful snow!
Let's see how creative our students can be. You can build your snowman out of snow, playdoh, draw one, whatever your creative mind can come up with!
Submit your snowman to one of our Eastwood pages for a chance for your class to win a pizza party! We will do this for every snow day we have!

Round up the family and check out this free event with the Blue Water Ramblers - find the details at www.brps.org/flyers

Last night’s Board of Education meeting was filled with celebration and recognition! 🎉
First, congratulations to Riverview Elementary for being honored by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Elementary Schools for 2026. This achievement reflects the incredible dedication of Riverview’s staff, students, and families. Way to go, Riverview! ❤️📚
We also celebrated our outstanding BRPS Facilities Department, led by Director Brian Akey, for earning the Michigan Safety Awareness and Facilities Excellence (MSAFE) Award from SET SEG. This award recognizes Michigan public schools that demonstrate exceptional safety, risk management, and facilities practices—and our team continues to set the standard. Their hard work keeps our students and staff safe every single day. 🛠️🏆
Thank you to everyone who helps make BRPS a place where excellence and safety thrive. We are BR!

Since mid-October Sawyer R. has been doing jobs for others to earn donations to buy books and toys for children sick in the hospital. This was his idea after hearing the phrase "round up" while at a store. He asked questions and said he wanted to find a way to help others. His parents supported him throughout the process and wanted to give back locally.
They were able to collect $250 and Sawyer went shopping to pick out items for give.
Sawyer is so proud to be able to help children feel better. (He said he hopes this helps 100 kids!)
We are beyond proud of his hard work, generosity, and kind compassionate heart.
On Monday, Sawyer went to Helen Devos Children's Hospital and delivered the toys he bought with the money he earned! Way to go Sawyer! Everyone at Eastwood Elementary is so proud of you! Way to show everyone what is means to be Compassionate and Determined!

This month, our Board of Education recognized our Parent Teacher Organizations (PTO) and Booster Clubs that support our schools. In attendance were representatives from the Brookside PTO, Eastwood PTO, Riverview PTO, Middle School PTO, Sports Boosters, and Band Boosters. These individuals dedicate countless hours to supporting our students. In particular, their fundraising efforts have created SO MANY meaningful opportunities for Big Rapids students, and their commitment makes a lasting difference in our schools and community!
Please help us thank our PTOs and Booster groups!
