Riverview Elementary has truly been blessed with an incredible group of guest readers during March is Reading Month. From community members to staff and special visitors, each reader has brought their own energy, enthusiasm, and love of books into our classrooms. Students have enjoyed hearing new stories, making connections, and seeing firsthand how reading is important at every age. These special visits have helped inspire a deeper excitement for reading and created memorable moments that our students will carry with them long after March ends. We are grateful to all of our guest readers!

Today in Ms. Sticklers class, our students made some of the recipes from the book Holes they have been reading. They worked together and made an onion dip and spiced peaches over ice cream! They did an amazing job working together and it all turned out great and tasted amazing!!

Our 4th graders in Ms.Sticklers class have been studying all about Engineering and Energy transfer, and how energy is stored. Yesterday the students built chain reactions to reveal a message at the end. The kids had so much fun. They were great little engineers working together in teams to make their chain reactions work.

March is Reading Month is in full swing at Riverview Elementary! The hallways and classrooms have been transformed with colorful fairytale decorations, bringing favorite storybook characters and magical scenes to life. From castles and crowns to dragons and enchanted forests, the building is filled with imagination and excitement. These creative displays help inspire students to dive into books and enjoy the magic that reading can bring.
Riverview Elementary is proud to have our talented students’ artwork featured at the Artworks Art Attack! From March 16 through April 16, the community is invited to stop in and enjoy the creativity and imagination of our young artists on display. Each piece reflects the hard work, unique ideas, and artistic talents of Riverview students. We encourage families and community members to visit and celebrate the amazing artwork our students have created! 🎨✨

One of the highlights of the month is our Reading Buddies program. Older students partner with younger learners, sharing stories, laughter, and a love for books. It’s wonderful to see friendships form as they practice fluency, build confidence, and model strong reading skills.

Four classrooms from Riverview Elementary recently enjoyed a fun and educational visit to the MOCC Agricultural Center. Students had the opportunity to explore the agricultural center and learn more about animals, farming, and how agriculture plays an important role in our community.
The visit allowed students to see firsthand how food is produced and how animals are cared for. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience, and the students were excited to ask questions and discover new things. Thank you to the staff at the agricultural center for welcoming our Riverview students and sharing their knowledge! 🌾🐄📚
Mrs Wanink's, 2nd grade class, made posters for a couple of their reading buddies to wish them luck tonight as they compete in their regional championship hockey game in Tawas. The Riverview students will be cheering them on and hoping they bring home a big win! 🏒📚👏
