These ladies had fun building a little snowbuddy at recess earlier this week. ⛄️

The elementary halls came alive with festive door décor, each classroom showing off its own burst of holiday spirit. Bright colors, twinkling accents, and creative designs welcomed students as they walked through the building.

Riverview’s holiday shop buzzed with excitement as students browsed for gifts, dressed in holiday cheer. Smiling faces and colorful outfits filled the halls, making the school feel merry and bright. Students brought the spirit of the season to life while selecting thoughtful presents for loved ones. It was a joyful celebration of giving, kindness, and festive fun all wrapped into one special week.

Riverview was filled with holiday cheer as students started their special shopping days with Big Rapids High School helpers, FSU Phi Sigma Sigma volunteers, and dedicated PTO members. Thanks to their guidance, every child is getting the chance to pick out thoughtful gifts for loved ones while learning the joy of giving. The teamwork among our high school students, college volunteers, and PTO truly are making this holiday shopping experience warm, festive, and memorable for all.

Happy Thanksgiving Day from Big Rapids Public Schools!
This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for our incredible Cardinal community — our students, families, staff, and supporters who make our district such a special place to learn and grow.
This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for our incredible Cardinal community — our students, families, staff, and supporters who make our district such a special place to learn and grow.

Riverview Elementary continued its heartfelt tradition of hanging Thanksgiving door tags on the homes in our neighborhood. Students loved spreading kindness as they delivered cheerful messages wishing our neighbors a warm and happy Thanksgiving. This simple act of gratitude reminded everyone how special our community truly is. Riverview is proud to share thankfulness beyond our school walls and brighten the holiday season for those around us.

Ms. Stickler's classroom celebrated Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown–style, bringing the classic story to life with simple, heartfelt traditions. Students enjoyed popcorn, toast, and jelly beans while laughing about the iconic Peanuts feast. Decorations inspired by Charlie Brown and his friends added a fun, nostalgic touch. It was a sweet reminder that Thanksgiving is less about the meal and more about sharing time, gratitude, and friendship.

First graders had a blast decorating their turkeys with creative items they found at home, all in an effort to cleverly disguise them. Each turkey took on a whole new identity—from superheroes to rock stars—making sure no one would ever want to eat them! The laughter and imagination filling the classroom made the activity a fun and memorable Thanksgiving tradition.

The halls of Riverview have been filled with festive decorations for everyone to enjoy. As we head into the holiday break, we wish all of our Riverview families a warm and blessed Thanksgiving celebration. May your homes be filled with joy, togetherness, and plenty of reasons to be thankful.

Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate for the students to enjoy the fresh air so we have fun inside.
