Mrs. Maleski’s first grade class has been doing a wonderful job working together as a team. The students are learning how to share ideas, take turns, and help one another with their work. Whether they are reading in small groups, solving math problems, or building projects, they are showing kindness and cooperation every day. By working with each other, they are not only learning new skills but also building strong friendships in the classroom.

Big Rapids Public Schools is adopting a more efficient and environmentally responsible approach to sharing information from outside organizations. Instead of sending printed flyers home with students, BRPS will now post approved materials from approved community partners on our new Virtual Backpack webpage.

This change is expected to reduce paper use, save staff time, and make it easier for families to access community information year-round.

School-related announcements, classroom updates, and student assignments will still be sent home in student backpacks. Families should continue to check backpacks regularly for important school communications.
