On Friday, February 23, 2024, dedicated members of the BRHS National Honor Society, along with BRHS teacher Kayla Cousineau, collaborated with Angels of Action to assemble nearly 600 weekend food bags. We are proud of our students for demonstrating their commitment to supporting and nourishing our local communities.

Congrats to the BRHS Forensics Team on their successful evening of competition on Thursday, February 15th in Kent City!
Islwyn Williams competed in Impromptu Speech and earned 3rd place overall.
Jacob Beauchamp competed in Informative Speech and earned 3rd place overall.
Finn Kutschke competed in Oratory Speech and earned 1st place she received a medal for his performance!

Five choirs from BRPS excelled at the District Chorus Festival yesterday!
Congratulations to Chorus, Blue Choir, and Red Choir for their 'Good' ratings, scoring 92, 92, and 95 out of 120 points. Special applause to Bella Voce and Serenade, achieving an 'Excellent' rating with impressive scores of 111 out of 120. Notably, only four choirs at the event received excellent ratings, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication.
In addition, Bella Voce and Serenade achieved flawless scores in Sight Reading!

The BRHS Quiz Bowl team had an exciting start to their season on Wednesday night, ending the night with an overall record of 8-1! The varsity team secured victories against Central Montcalm, White Cloud, Chip Hills, Reed City, and Lakeview, while the JV team celebrated wins versus Grant and White Cloud B & C. Congratulations BRHS Quiz Bowl!

The brand new BRHS Cardinals chess team competed in its first match on Tuesday evening against the Newaygo Lions. The Cardinals coached by Mr. Buist walked away with a 20-5 victory. Representing Big Rapids this week were Kendall Sissell, Eli Buist, Christian Walch, Andrea Fountain, and Ethan Oles. The Cardinals have a bye next week before hosting Tri-County in two weeks.
