Early this month, the 10th grade students had the opportunity to tour the Mecosta Osceola Career Center and learn more about the 17 programs that they can participate in during 11th and 12th grade. Student were also able try out many hands on activities during their visits!

Representatives, Chris Wernette & Kathryn Harenda, of the Mecosta-Canadian Lakes Chapter of The Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel recently awarded a $1,000 grant to Big Rapids High School Technology teacher, Michele Selzer and Principal, Ron Pincumbe. The grant money will be used to purchase a system that allows our technology students to create a professional video production, which includes a more high-tech sound system, a teleprompter, and better lighting, optics, and stability for the Big Rapids High School’s daily video announcements. This system will give students a great opportunity to prepare them with 21st century skills and learning.

It’s National School Bus Safety Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible team that keeps our Cardinals safe every single day!

Each day, BRPS buses carry 1,372 students across 1,023 miles — and by week’s end, that’s 5,115 miles and more than 6,800 safe rides completed! 🚦 That would be like driving to Florida every day or driving from New York City to Las Vegas, Nevada AND BACK each week!

From early mornings to afternoon drop-offs, our drivers and transportation staff make safety their top priority — and we’re so thankful for the care, smiles, and dedication they show on every route. ❤️
