Here are some upcoming High School Homecoming Activities:
Selfie with a Staff Member
Each day during Homecoming week (except for Friday), there will be designated staff members that you can take selfies with to earn spirit points.
Spirit Point Count
Each day during 1st hour, you will be counted for participating in the spirit day. If you do not have a 1st hour or are AM CC, you may e-mail me (kbritton@brps.org), DM the Student Council Instagram account @brhsstudentcouncil
"Best in Show"
You are able to nominate yourself by emailing me or DMing the Instagram account a photo of yourself dressed up for that day's spirit day. The point is do you think you've dressed the best according to the theme? Or perhaps the most creatively? Why not see!? We will select three top winners each day (Monday-Thursday), who will receive a prize between their choice of a free Homecoming ticket ($10 value) or a $10 gift card to the place in town of their choice!
Capture the Flag
The annual Capture the Flag competition is back next week! (Class of 2027--just a reminder that you never found yours for the last day last year...) Find your class' flag each day (except Friday) & turn it in to Miss Britt's room (#338) to earn +40, 30, 20, or 10 spirit points for you class that day (1st thru 4th place) . Any class who moves or re-hides another class' flag will be penalized!
Seniors: RED
Juniors: WHITE
Sophomores: GREEN
Freshmen: YELLOW
PowderPuff Football Game: Wednesday, Sept. 25th @ 7pm in Cardinal Stadium
Homecoming Parade: Friday, Sept. 27th @ 5:30pm, downtown BR (Michigan Ave., beginning at BRMS).
Homecoming Football Game: Friday @ 7pm. *Grand Marshal & class reps introduced and Homecoming royalty crowned @ halftime!
Homecoming Dance: Saturday @ 8-11pm in Rotunda. *Enter in door next to weight room. Remember to not get here super early - the doors may not be open, silly! Also: no admittance after 9pm.
*Tickets will be $10 each, and will be sold next week during ALL lunches at the ticket booth, and will be available for the same price at the door on the night of the dance.
**Dance Guest Forms for any non-BRHS guests must be filled in & submitted to the office by Wednesday, Sept. 25th! Please see Mrs. Maynard in the main office to grab one!
A huge thank you to the BRHS Alumni Association for their generous donation to help with this year’s Homecoming! These funds will help to cover the cost of flowers, crowns, and supplies for signs for our Grand Marshal & Class Representatives in next week’s parade! Thanks, @bigrapidsalum !!

Big Rapids High School Celebrates Constitution Day!
This morning students earned a donut for reciting the Preamble!
Thank you to everyone who donated at the blood drive last Friday! We had 75 people try to donate and were able to collect 51 units of blood throughout the day. All blood donations stay local and will impact over 120 lives. Thank you for your support!!
Spirit Days for Homecoming Next Week!
Today we honor all who lost their lives 23 years ago in the September 11th attacks.
We will never forget.

Please be aware that bus routes or parent pick-up may experience delays today due to Vice-President candidate JD Vance’s scheduled visit to A & W at 2:30 pm on August 27th.
This may cause closure or delays on State Street. Michigan Ave. and Grand Traverse Ave. should remain open.

Career Center will begin on Friday, August 23, 2024!
On August 22, AM MOCC students should report to the high school for class by 9:27 and PM MOCC will be done with class by 10:08.

We are thrilled to introduce our new district-wide safety signage at BRPS!
These signs will enhance emergency response times, ensuring the safety of our students and staff. Each sign features a removable nameplate, providing a flexible and long-lasting solution for classroom or teacher changes. The signs will also help with wayfinding throughout our buildings for students, staff, or guests.
This project was funded by a safety grant, which also supports the installation of exterior signs across all campuses to deter unauthorized personnel from approaching school buildings. These measures are part of our ongoing commitment to creating safe learning environments for everyone at BRPS.
