Big Rapids Public Schools is committed to continually improving our schools and supporting the growth of every student. Today we captured our MICIP (Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process) team in action as they dedicated a full day to reviewing progress, setting goals, and planning strategies to help students succeed.
Throughout the day, the team looked closely at student feedback and test data to understand where students are thriving and where additional support may be needed. These discussions guide our goals and ensure that every decision is made with students in mind.
Staff also reviewed the many programs and activities already in place to support learning. From summer school and extended learning opportunities, to math and reading interventions, to positive behavior supports in every building. By examining the impact of these efforts, our team can see what’s working well and where adjustments may help even more students succeed.
The meeting also allowed staff to plan for the future, including supporting students transitioning between schools and providing ongoing professional learning for teachers and staff.
At Big Rapids Public Schools, we know that thoughtful planning and collaboration make a real difference. Days like this allow us to work together to ensure students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
